The University Downtown Center in Binghamton, NY is expected to attract over 3,500 students a day and increase activities in the heart of this historic city. The four-story, 74,400 square-foot center offers 11 state-of-the-art classrooms; several conference and small-group meeting rooms; and an Information Commons that provides computer access to students, staff and the public. The building is home to the College of Community and Public Affairs and offers a academic and conference space for Broome Community College programs.
A 3-story glass atrium faces the Chenango River, maximizing the use of daylight, and links the central indoor area to the outdoors creating a seamless transition between it and the landscaping. The project is registered with USGBC for LEED® Silver Certification.
