The project adds 35,000 square feet to Martha Van Rensselaer Hall in the College of Human Ecology. Spanning between the original 1933 building and the North Wing constructed in 1968, the addition creates a new campus entrance to the complex. Designed to provide the curriculum with high-quality research space, the building also includes two 150 seat lecture halls. The design is sensitive to the historic qualities of the 1933 building, forming an aesthetic bridge between the two architectural expressions while encouraging interdepartmental research collaboration among faculty and graduate students.
