HOLT Breaks Ground on a Natural Science Center at BCC
April 16, 2012 -
A goundbreaking took place today on the long-awaited Natural Science Center for Broome Community College. BCC's current Chemistry, Biology and Physical Science laboratories are scattered across campus and were in need for facility upgrades. The Natural Science Center will incorporate new technologies and provide appropriate spaces for today's evolving local business and industry workforce to train. This new building will mark the starting point for a fundamental transformation of the College campus.
"To attract the students of tomorrow, we have to invest today," said Debbie Preston, Broome County executive and a BCC graduate. "This new science building will only improve an already amazing institution."
The Natural Science Center is LEED Registered, with a certification goal of Silver, and is scheduled to be completed in August 2014.
