Cazenovia College

Cazenovia, NY

24,020 square feet

Academics, Awards, Historically Sensitive

Reisman Hall at Cazenovia College provides the Academic Division of Art and Design with state-of-the-art studio space and classrooms to support today's rapidly changing technologies.

The building houses the Visual Communications, Interior Design and Photography programs. The Cazenovia College Art Gallery and Sculpture Court exhibits the work of students, faculty, alumni and visiting artists. Open to the public, the exhibition spaces in particular help build a bridge between the College and the village community.

Situated in Cazenovia's Village Historic District the new facility complements the existing historic architectural fabric. The architecture of the college is reflected in an exterior of red brick highlighted with stone accents and white framed windows, while the scale and mass of the building take clues from the neighboring 19th century architecture. At the same time modern details include a copper panel entrance facade punctuating the facade above the main entrance which is flanked by panels of imprinted bricks handmade by one of the Art and Design faculty.
