As medical imaging technology evolves, outpatient diagnostic imaging services are increasingly in demand and hospitals need to market these services competitively.

HOLT helps its hospital clients create attractive patient-centered imaging facilities that join the latest technology with seamless patient comfort. At Rome Hospital the new 2-story 18,700 gsf addition creates an Imaging Center that includes a private MRI suite, ultrasound, mammography, digital radiology, and fluoroscopy rooms. Patients arrive at an outpatient entrance canopy into a glass lobby where an elevator connects to a sunny, spacious reception/waiting room directly above. Because many imaging treatment rooms require low light levels, HOLT oriented the waiting room spaces and the MRI suite to maximize the available natural light.

A private suite of waiting/treatment rooms within the center of the addition provides direct and private access to therapeutic modalities typically used by women. HOLT's interior designers used soft curving shapes, fluid lines, a warm color palette, natural wood finishes, and indirect lighting to create comfortable and non-clinical-feeling environments for patients and staff.

This addition also included a new outpatient Sleep Diagnostic Center on the ground floor.
