Community Practice Veterinary Clinic
Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine | Ithaca, NY
Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine’s new Community Practice Service Building provides a real-world veterinary practice for students and offers a fear-free and stress-free environment for pets and their owners.
Patients enter the 10,000sf stand-alone facility into an open and bright waiting area that provides a welcoming first impression. A light-filled corridor leads to five exam rooms where specific materiality, exam furniture and fixture specifications help aid in canine and feline comfort. Surgical spaces include imaging, procedure induction/recovery, and separate animal holding areas with feline-friendly cages. Two dental workstations support cleaning, X-rays, and surgical tooth extractions. Other spaces include labs, pharmacy, staff and faculty offices, conference rooms, lockers, restrooms, and several touch down/collaboration areas.
Sited at a gateway to the Veterinary Campus, this building is beacon for pet health and wellness – with the architecture exemplifying the quality of learning and client service that happens within its walls.
