Cayuga Medical Center | Ithaca, NY
Cayuga Medical Center’s LEED Silver Certified 36,000sf expansion and 46,000sf renovation project delivers a new and improved Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, Imaging Department and numerous other outpatient services to the hospital.
A 21-bed emergency department accommodates 35,000 annual visits. The race-track plan, with private patient rooms around a centralized nursing core, creates unobstructed views between care providers and the patient alcoves and promotes staff efficiency.
The Critical Care Unit, comprised of 16 rooms in an open, “U-shaped” floor plan has decentralized nursing and workstations outside each room allowing for increased patient visibility and better patient care.
A 23,000sf Imaging Department incorporates an upgraded docking station for a mobile medical unit, a private women’s imaging area and CT and Nuclear medicine suites.
