Stone Quarry Apartments

Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services | Ithaca, NY

The organizing concept for Stone Quarry Apartments, a three-building, 35-unit development, is the u-shaped central green space that functions as a public square and is supported by a playground and basketball court to the rear.

The unique three-story apartment building and 16 two-story townhomes mimic the pitched roof homes seen throughout the neighborhood. The single pitch dormers reference the traditional “peaked” dormer linking traditional and contemporary and the articulation of massing creates variety along the street scape and appropriate scale for the neighborhood. With the addition of fences, sidewalks and plantings along the street scape the project is a key link in furthering the walkability of the neighborhood.

The project is seeking LEED for Homes Gold Certification.

Urban waterfront in front of Ithaca’s future City Harbor, a multi-family waterfront community that promotes public lake access through a pedestrian walkway overlooking Cayuga Lake’s waterways. The 5-story apartment building contains 156 one and two-bedroom apartments within walking distance of the Ithaca Farmer’s market.
