Setnor Academic Building
The renovation of the historic 5-story Setnor building adds a variety of academic and administrative spaces, including a state-of-the-art clinical skills center, flexible classroom space, offices and an alumni association suite. Adding the new structure against the face of the existing Weiskotten Hall offers both the advantage of close proximity to academic program space and the challenge of preserving the window area of the existing façade.
The 4-story atrium is crowned with a 100-foot skylight that offers natural light to embedded spaces, and creates an energetic public space that can be used for large gatherings. The atrium, designed largely of glass, acts as a transitional space uniting the architectural expressions of the original building and the new structure.
